The Doubler

I just finished quilting "The Doubler." I made it for the VAST/Denton Poets Assembly joint show called Merging Visions. It's based on a poem by Beth Honeycutt about a doubler – an instrumentalist who plays more that one instrument during a song.

The Doubler, 24x33"

The musician is Beth's husband, Randy, who inspired the poem.
Randy helped me stage a photo of him playing his flute. The background is hand-dyed cotton and the clarinet and saxophone are inkjet printed on cotton.

The Merging Visions exhibit opens April 1 in all three branches of the Denton Public Libraries and is accessible to the public free of charge during regular library hours.
